Health Firm Plans Expansion in Johnson County
A pharmaceutical company is laying the groundwork for boosting its presence in Greenwood. The Southside Daily Journal reports Elona Biotechnologies plans to build a $28 million facility that would produce a form of insulin. The 50,000 square foot building would allow the company to add 70 jobs.The city of Greenwood may offer up to $8.5 million in incentives, including a construction loan.
The city also believes the new building could serve as an anchor for a new biotechnology park.
