lacroixIML Containers expanded in Iowa

The Iowa Economic Development Board approved tax incentives through the High Quality Jobs program for IML Containers Iowa, Inc. to complete a proposed expansion of its facility in Le Mars (Iowa). The company is part of the Lacroix Group, a French company that is a leader in the production of wooden, cardboard and plastic containers for the dairy market. The proposal includes a 46,500 square-foot expansion that would house further production and warehouse areas.

Additional injection molding machines would be purchased to increase production capacity. The proposed project represents an $11 million capital investment and created 29 new jobs. (April 21, 2011, DES MOINES, Iowa)

Just over five years ago, Groupe LaCroix, the Bois d'Amont, France-based manufacturer that operates 20 packaging plants around the world, opened IML Containers of Iowa in Le Mars with six employees and leased space. After two expansions, IML now operates in its own 115,000-square-foot facility, employs about 40 people and produces more than 180 million parts per year. The in-mold labeling (IML) plastic containers it produces are used for food products including ice cream, butter, spreadable cheese and dips.
