Kentucky Case Studies

ZFOn July 12th 2012 Governor Steve Beshear announced that ZF Rubber & Plastics Hebron LLC will expand its Northern Kentucky manufacturing operation, adding more than 60 new jobs to its current full-time workforce of 206.

The company's $17.9 million investment will increase the existing Hebron facility by 52,000 square feet and allow for the purchase of new equipment to manufacture bushings, engine mounts, anti-vibration products and plastics components for the automotive industry.

webastoOn November 14th 2012 Governor Steve Beshear announced that Webasto Sunroof Systems Inc. plans to expand manufacturing operations in Lexington, creating 65 new, full-time jobs and investing $10 million in the Commonwealth. Gov. Beshear met to discuss the potential project with Webasto officials this summer during an economic development trip to Germany.

"It's outstanding to see Webasto bring 65 new jobs and a $10 million investment to Lexington," said Gov. Beshear. "Through its rich history, Webasto has faced adversity, persevered through difficult economic times and emerged successful and stronger. This is an exciting time for the company, and a period when Kentucky's automotive industry is moving forward and helping drive the economy in the right direction."

lorealOn November 15th, 2012, Governor Steve Beshear joined company and local officials in northern Kentucky to announce an expansion for global cosmetics and hair care manufacturer L'Oréal USA, which plans to add 211 jobs and invest more than $42 million in the Commonwealth.

Gov. Beshear met with L'Oréal officials in Paris during an economic development trip to Europe this summer to discuss the company's Kentucky footprint and growth opportunities.
