In August 2018 SELIT North America, a German manufacturer of polystyrene foams, announced it will create 100 jobs and invest $45 million in a new manufacturing facility in Banks County. New jobs will include manufacturing and administrative positions. “Georgia, and particularly Banks County, emerged as our preferred location and partners due to their highly professional approach towards economic development,” said Rouven Seitner, shareholder of SELIT NA. “The strong cultural fit between the Georgian ‘way of doing business’ and our family company with German roots makes us the perfect match.”


In June 2018 thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas Business Unit, one of the leading building transportation companies in North America and a subsidiary of thyssenkrupp AG, announced it will create more than 650 new jobs and invest more than $200 million in its new headquarters and innovation complex in Cobb County. Upon completion, the new complex will include three facilities anchored by a state-of-the-art, 420-foot-tall elevator qualification and test tower, the tallest of its kind in the nation. The new facility is also expected to generate thousands of visitors annually for product showcasing and training.


In June 2018 VDL Groep, a major player in the subcontracting and semi-finished products sectors with headquarter in Eindhoven, Netherlands, announced they will invest $17 million in a new facility to be located in Hall County, Georgia. The opening of the facility will advance the creation of 110 new jobs in engineering, manufacturing and general sales administration. VDL Groep highlight Georgia’s geographical location as well as the availability of resources as the main drivers for choosing Georgia.


In January 2018 Groupe PSA, a French multinational manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles, announced they will locate its new North American headquarters in Fulton County, Georgia. As the second-largest carmaker in Europe and one of the top mobility providers in the world, Groupe PSA will join a growing family of innovative automotive manufacturers and suppliers operating in Georgia. Groupe PSA identified Atlanta as the perfect choice based on their unique needs in terms of technology, mobility innovation and car culture.


On June 13, 2017, Carcoustics, a supplier to the automotive industry, announced they will create 200 jobs and invest $6 million in a new Buford facility over the next five years. The newly created jobs will include positions in manufacturing. Carcoustics is an innovative, midsize company headquartered in Leverkusen, Germany.
