TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Jan. 11, 2019) – Governor Eric J. Holcomb and local officials joined executives from Saturn Petcare, the largest private-label, pet food manufacturer in Europe, today as the company announced plans to establish its first U.S. facility in Vigo County, creating up to 200 new jobs by 2024. At the ceremony, the company unveiled a commemorative pet food label dedicated to Henry Holcomb, Indiana’s first dog, called Henry’s First Choice.

JobsOhio announced Nanogate SE, a Germany-based global specialist in design-oriented high-tech surfaces and components, will establish a new R&D center in Mansfield. Nanogate Jay Systems, the company’s U.S. subsidiary, plans to add the R&D center to its existing facility, where more than 400 employees design and manufacture high-quality automotive lighting and interior components for major automotive manufacturers in the United States, Europe and Asia. JobsOhio is supporting the project with a $2 million R&D Center Grant.

RICHMOND - On January 16, 2019, Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia announced that Klöckner Pentaplast will invest $25 million to expand its global production capacity for pharmaceutical and medical device packaging films at its manufacturing facility in Louisa County. Virginia successfully competed with Ohio for the project, which is expected to result in 34 new jobs.

In June 2018 VDL Groep, a major player in the subcontracting and semi-finished products sectors with headquarter in Eindhoven, Netherlands, announced they will invest $17 million in a new facility to be located in Hall County, Georgia. The opening of the facility will advance the creation of 110 new jobs in engineering, manufacturing and general sales administration. VDL Groep highlight Georgia’s geographical location as well as the availability of resources as the main drivers for choosing Georgia.

Lely to create North American headquarters in Pella, Iowa
Lely North America, based in Pella, is part of the Lely Group, which was founded in 1948 in the Netherlands. The company develops innovative robotics and data analytics that improve animal welfare, flexibility and production on dairy farms. Lely North America plans to expand its presences in Iowa with the construction of a new, 150,000 square foot North American headquarters. With this expansion, products currently manufactured in Europe will now be manufactured in Pella. The board awarded this $15.7 million capital investment tax benefits from the High Quality Jobs (HQJ) program. The project is expected to create 15 jobs, incented at a qualifying wage of $21.61 per hour.

In May 2018, BH North America Corporation, a Spanish-owned premium fitness equipment, bicycle and garage cabinetry company, relocated its US headquarters from California to St. Charles, Missouri.

The move brings 50 new jobs to the region.

Chattanooga chosen as company’s U.S. base for electric vehicle production

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe along with Volkswagen AG announced today that Chattanooga will be home to the company’s first electric vehicle manufacturing facility in North America.

The project represents an investment of $800 million by Volkswagen and the creation of 1,000 jobs in Hamilton County.
