In August 2018 SELIT North America, a German manufacturer of polystyrene foams, announced it will create 100 jobs and invest $45 million in a new manufacturing facility in Banks County. New jobs will include manufacturing and administrative positions. “Georgia, and particularly Banks County, emerged as our preferred location and partners due to their highly professional approach towards economic development,” said Rouven Seitner, shareholder of SELIT NA. “The strong cultural fit between the Georgian ‘way of doing business’ and our family company with German roots makes us the perfect match.”


VERBIO to establish RNG production facility in Nevada, Iowa
VERBIO North America (VNA) is the U.S. subsidiary of VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG, a German producer of ethanol, biodiesel and renewable natural gas (RNG) serving the European renewable vehicle fuels market since 2000. The proposed project establishes an RNG plant at the former site of the DuPont cellulosic ethanol facility in Nevada. This would be the company’s first production facility in North America. The board awarded VERBIO tax benefits via HQJ for the proposed $35 million project. This investment is in addition to, and separate from, the facility acquisition cost and will go toward converting the plant to utilize the VERBIO RNG technology. The project is expected to create 44 jobs, of which 28 are incented at a qualifying wage of $24.95.


In February 2018, Faurecia, a leading automotive technology company developing solutions for sustainable mobility and smart life on board, announced plans to open a new Interiors production facility in Blue Springs, Missouri. The new facility will create more than 300 new jobs and will ramp up to full production by the end of 2020. Upon completion, total investment is expected to be in excess of $60 million for the approximately 250,000 square foot plant.

The City of Mason and Festo, a German-based global corporation specializing in advanced automation technology for more than 40 industries, today announced the company will expand its existing state-of-the-art Regional Service and Manufacturing Center in Mason by approximately 350,000 square feet, nearly tripling the company’s capacity in logistics, production and industrial training solutions offered through its Festo Didactic Learning Center, which serves manufacturing companies and colleges throughout the Tristate. Construction will be conducted in two phases and is expected to be completed by 2024. The company also plans to add 350 jobs in the fields of engineering, mechatronics, purchasing and material management, as well as production and logistics operations, over the next five years.

Bus and coach manufacturer to invest more than $47 million and create nearly 640 jobs

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Van Hool NV officials announced today that the Belgian company will establish its first U.S. manufacturing operation in Morristown and create nearly 640 jobs over the next five years.

RICHMOND - On July 30, 2018, Governor Ralph Northam announced that Press Glass, the largest independent flat glass processing operation in Europe, will invest $43.55 million to establish a 280,000-square-foot manufacturing operation in Henry County. Press Glass represents the first company to locate in the county’s Commonwealth Crossing Industrial Park. Virginia successfully competed against North Carolina for the project, which will create 212 new jobs.
