Georgia boats a robust business and financial services industry with 234 customer and business service center facilities located in the state, employing over 89,900 people. Nearly 71 percent of these facilities (165) are located in the 28-county Atlanta metro area. Slightly more than half the Georgia facilities employ people primarily engaged in teleservice/customer interaction (120), while another 27 percent of the facilities (63) are engaged in both teleservice and information processing. An additional 51 facilities (22 percent) are primarily information processing centers. Of the 114 facilities providing information processing services, 35 are dedicated solely to financial/tax/accounting information entry activities.

Georgia’s business and financial services industry is fundamentally strong and will grow even stronger in the coming years. Factors such as the continued growth of gross state product, high corporate profits and low inflation all work to the industry’s advantage, benefiting particularly those business and financial institutions with operations in Georgia. In addition, the State’s business and financial services industry will continue to benefit from positive demographic trends, as the steady influx of new residents increases demand for such services, props up asset prices and encourages new business formation.
